Standards Compliant method to add Quicktime movies to pages

In the old days, when we learned to compose a web page, html was the language to be learned.

However, the modern W3C recommendation for web page composition is xhtml. Note the x and it's the x makes things different and more difficult (or easier if you discover the goods of xhtml). If you want your web page universally "browsable" with any browser but not IE alone, you should write your web page in a way so that it's xhtml compliant.

Many old tags used in html is now deprecated in xhtml, for example, the <embed> tag which was used to embed objects like movies in the web page. Many people got used to html tags now feel lives much difficult as they find it very difficult to comprehend the new language.

There is a site talking about the standards compliant method to add Quicktime movies to web pages that I accidentally came accross today: http://realdev1.realise.com/rossa/rendertest/quicktime.html and I found it very helpful as I always try my best to keep this site compliant with the standard.

The way to add Flickr badge to your blog

After you login at Flickr, at that very page, get to the bottom menu with a line named "Help". There should be an option "Tools". Click to open the "Help/Tools" page. Now, you could probably see a paragraph with the headline "Display Flickr photos on your website" at the right column. Click the link "build a badge". In the next page, choose between the 2 options: HTML or Flash (mine is Flash) and click NEXT: CHOOSE PHOTOS. Coming to "Step 2: Photos", I think you would like to choose "Yours" rather than "Everyone's". Make your choice and click "NEXT: COLORS". Make changes as you like then click "NEXT: PREVIEW & GET CODE". You then will see a textarea box with the script required for displaying the Flickr badge in your blog. Highlight the whole script to copy and paste it into the template of your blog just next to the line with '<h2 class="sidebar-title">Links</h2>'. Save it and "重新發佈" (I don't know the English version). You may then go to your blog to have a look and see if it works

Wow, it's my nth blog site!

Probably the 5th one...
